Book News!

Hi all! I hope that you have had a wonderful first couple weeks of March. (Where did February go?!)

As many of you know, March marks quite an odd time in our history. For many California schools, 1 year ago, we closed our doors to children, and asked them to remain at home for a 2 week quarantine. Little did we know that that 2 weeks would turn into a year of distance learning. 1 year ago, my job as I knew it was about to change, and I, too, was sent home from work at the school. This hiatus from life as I knew it helped me achieve a lifelong dream, writing and publishing a book. Wings to be exact.

Now, here I am, 1 year later, a published author. And almost to the day, 1 year after being sent home "until things change," (HA!) I have had the opportunity to check off yet another item of my author bucket list. If you follow my instagram you may already know this, but for those of you who don't... (drumroll please)

Wings is officially on shelves, inside an actual, real-life Barnes&Noble store! (Cue applause, and fireworks, and let the happy dancing commence!)

I know, some of you are thinking,"okay, that's cool and all, but it's already being sold online there, so what's the big deal." Well, just let me have my moment, okay? There's something just so oddly satisfying, and also surreal about seeing your name on a product, on a book, inside of a store. And if anyone was like me, going to the bookstore as a kid was kinda magical. I mean, I dreamed, and I definitely dreamed big as a kid, but it just seemed like a wild concept to be able to walk into a store and see your name on something that was yours and being sold there. Especially, if you were someone who came from a non-famous, fairly ordinary family. Seeing it on the shelf at Barnes&Noble just makes me feel all adult-y and author-y and official.

So there you have it, the book news. Please enjoy this picture of a giddy me holding my book.
